So, do you know what IP68 is? IP68 is actually a waterproof and dustproof rating, and it's the highest. IP is the abbreviation of Ingress Protection. IP level is the protection level of electrical equipment shell against foreign body intrusion. The source is the International Electrotechnical Commission standard IEC 60529, which was also adopted as the national standard of the United States in 2004. In this standard, the format of IP level is IPXX for the protection of foreign matter in the shell of electrical equipment, where XX is two Arabic numerals, the first mark number represents the protection level of contact and foreign matter, the second mark number represents the waterproof protection level, IP is the code name used to identify the protection level internationally, IP level is composed of two numbers. The first number indicates dust protection; The second number is waterproof, and the larger the number is, the better the protection and so on.
The relevant test in China is based on the standard requirements of GB 4208-2008/IEC 60529-2001 "Enclosure Protection Level (IP Code)", and the qualification evaluation test of the enclosure protection level of various products is carried out. The highest detection level is IP68. Conventional product testing grades include: IP23, IP44, IP54, IP55, IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68 grades.
The purpose of the test criteria is as follows:
1.Specify the enclosure protection level specified for electrical equipment load;
2.Prevent the human body from approaching the dangerous parts in the shell;
3.Prevent solid foreign matter from entering the equipment in the shell;
4.Prevent harmful effects on equipment due to water entering the shell.
Therefore, IP68 is the highest waterproof rating. Many products need to do waterproof grade test to reflect the safety and durability of use. kaweei company is no exception.
